Hello! Welcome to another week! Did you have a good weekend? Our was buuuuusyyy! But good. It’s always good when you feel productive but also relaxed on the weekends. Makes them go by quick though!
Speaking of quick, I where the heck did April go???? Here I am thinking about my blog posts this week and I realize that April’s over so it’s time for another round of favorites!
So in this post, I’ll take a look back at some makeup and skin care items I’ve been loving this past month (i.e. April).
So let’s get started!
My makeup routine starts and ends with this fantastic cleaner! I don’t like the idea of using a “used” beauty blender on my face for makeup application, so I almost always start my routine by cleaning my makeup sponge.
This cleaner is gentle enough to use every day and it doesn’t dry out your sponge or have a weird smell. Plus it’s $9 which is a steal compared to the beauty blender brand and others.
MORPHE X BRETMAN Babe in Paradise Highlight Palette
This palette is so beautiful and well done by MORPHE and the beauty influencer Bretman Rock. He did such a good job making shades for all skin tones and I love the creamy feel of these highlights! Plus at $29 for six shades, it’s a steal! You can find it on morphe.com or in select ULTA stores.
Anastasia brow wiz — in medium brown
This is an oldie but a goodie! Such a great little eye brown pencil for creating detailed brows. I also think that the spooly that comes with these pencils is one of the best on the market. I seriously use it even if I’m not using my brow wiz.
SNS dip nail powder
I finally found someone where I live who can do GREAT “dip” nails. My nails are stronger and longer than they’ve ever been and I love how the color lasts for multiple weeks! If you haven’t tried “dip” powder on your nails, I would highly recommend it!
So this is a great mask to get rid of what ails your skin — blemish wise! I usually use this mask as a spot treatment on trouble spots on my face. Just a dab’ll do ya and that blemish will be gone the next day!
I also really like that it doesn’t dry out your face, so it can totally be used as an all over face mask if you do desire. This is a bit of a pricey-er item, so save your coin because it can be anywhere from $59 (1.7oz) to $79 (3.4oz) or you can go to Sephora and get a sample before you buy! Remember, a little goes a long way, so a full jar of this stuff will last you up to a year!
Let me just start by saying I LOVE the way this product smells. So good! It also WORKS, so there’s that too. I’ve noticed visible firming in my bum/thigh region after consistent use of this product.
I usually just slather it on after I take a shower or bath and it’s like being transported to an island. Yessss, take me there! This is another product that you don’t need a lot of and it’s a little pricey ($45) but since it works, I think it’s worth it!
Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder
This face powder has changed the game for setting my makeup. I like how it’s finely milled, lends a bit more coverage to my already caked face 😂, and keeps my face matte without drying my skin out! And it’s $7.99 (maybe more or less depending on where you shop…) so it’s a steal as well!
It comes in 8 shades, which I think they could do a bit better there, but as a setting powder it’s still a number 1 in my book.
Kat von D Shade and Light Palette
This palette is the prefect thing to “throw some shade” on your face! Ha! I held off buying this for so long and I’m not even sure why! I wish I had gotten a hold of it sooner because it’s such a versatile palette. I purchased the powders, because I prefer contouring with powder, but she also has a cremé palette if you like that.
Both palettes have easy to blend shades, which are also replaceable, make getting ready in the morning and carving my cheek bones super easy! I love the way the packaging looks too…it’s just so satisfying to own something that both works and looks good right? Right. At $49 it’s a bit pricey, but totally worth the splurge.
So that about wraps it up for what I loved from makeup and skin care for the month of April! Stay tuned because I have great recipes headed your way this week!
See ya next time!
XO,
Danielle
