Hello! Today I thought I would do something a little different and talk about what’s in my Makeup Bag — travel addition! For those of you who don’t know, I have a slight makeup addiction, so travel can be a little hard sometimes, I mean, So many questions come up!
Like…what do you take? What’s going to make a complete look? Did I forget anything???
Anyway, thankfully, this time around I don’t *think* I forgot anything so lets get into it!
Here’s an overview of *most* of what’s in my travel makeup bag! (don’t judge the lighting in the pictures…hotel lighting is not the best)
So as you can see, I probably carry more make up to travel than a lot of women own to begin with — don’t judge me — but let me break it down for you.
So for face-base products, from left to right — I have my bobbi brown face base (which you can read more about here), the Laneige lip mask, Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse face lotion, a small pack of Neutrogena Makeup remover wipes, 2 beauty sponges (one is a beauty blender the other is by Sonia Kashuk), and last but not least, some dry shampoo from Briogeo.
These products just make life a little bit easier while travelling, they are small items (I tend to like to travel with travel size items, unless it’s a long trip) and the dry shampoo is actually a powder, so it doesn’t count against liquids if you’re carrying on!
Anywho, moving on to face items! Now it’s all about that base…bout that base…bout that…too much? But seriously, a good foundation makes all the difference in your make up in my opinion.
So from left to right we’ve got: Laura Mercer Flawless Fusion foundation, Maybelline Stay Matte Foundation, Make up Forever Full Cover Concealer, The Amrezy & Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter, Studio Makeup Blush, Coty Airspun Face powder, Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer (FYI! Tarte’s Friends and Family sale is going on now! Save 25% off almost everything; use code TARTEBFF!) and last but not least, some face brushes for powders, bronzers & blushes!
Alright, moving on to your windows to the world, the eyes. Now this is ususally where I have trouble deciding what to pack because there’s just so many choices! I decided to go with a more neutral look for this trip, so not a lot of flah, but I do have some pops of color in there.
So from the top left to right: A shimmer palette by Blinc from my boxy charm subscription, the smashbox Always on liquid eyeliner, Marc Jacob’s Highliner in Blacquer, Benefit’s Bad Gal Bang, It Cosmetics Bow Power, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, tarte’s Fake Awake eye highlighter, Natasaha Denona’s Mini Sunset Palette an finally a mix of eye brushes. I almost always have a fluffy crease brush, a angled brush for the outer corner and a flat brush for the lower lash line.
And last but not least! Lips! I tend to go for more rosy/neutral shades so below I have YSL’s Matte Stain in Shade 16 and Jouer’s Lip Crème in the shade lychee. Both are great long wear formulas that last all day! I also snuck the Bite Beauty Agave lip Balm in there because it’s just such a great way to hydrate your lips!
So that’s it! Just a quick tour of what I brought with me on this trip to Albuquerque, NM. Stay tuned for a few of these items to show up in this weeks Friyay faves!
See ya tomorrow!
xo,
Danielle
